Our process

From an idea to something you can build.

How we take a residential project from the first conversation to construction, and what you receive along the way.

Six steps, one team coordinating them.

Join at the step you need. We'll tell you up front which steps your project requires.

Start your project
  1. 01

    Listen and measure

We learn your goals, budget and timeline, then document the existing home or property.

You get existing-condition plans and a clear brief.

  2. 02

    Concept options

Two or three layout directions that balance space, light, flow and cost.

You react to real options instead of a blank page.

  3. 03

    Design and visualization

Floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, materials and finishes come together.

You understand the layout, materials and overall design before construction.

  4. 04

    Plans and consultants

Drawings coordinated with engineers and other licensed professionals where required.

You get a complete, coordinated drawing set.

  5. 05

    Permits, when needed

We help prepare submittals and respond to plan check comments for projects that need permits.

Fewer surprises between design and approval.

  6. 06

    Pre-construction

Budget review, value engineering and coordination with your contractor.

You start construction with clear drawings and a realistic number.

Everything a project needs before construction.

More questions, answered.

Don't see yours? Schedule a consultation and ask us directly.

Do I need to know exactly what I want before contacting you?

No. Many clients start with a feeling that the house isn't working, a few inspiration photos, or a single problem to solve. Developing the idea with you is part of the work.

Are you architects?

No. Casa Forma is a residential design and planning studio, not a licensed architecture firm. When a project legally requires a licensed architect, engineer or contractor, we coordinate with appropriately licensed professionals and make clear who is responsible for what.

Can you work with a contractor I already have?

Yes. We often design and prepare plans for homeowners who already have a contractor, or who want design help before they choose one. Clear drawings make bids easier to compare.

Can I hire you just for plans or renderings?

Yes. You can hire us for a single piece, like a floor plan, a 3D rendering or finish selections, or for the full path from first idea to construction.

Do you handle permits?

For projects that need them, we prepare and coordinate permit drawings with the required licensed professionals and help manage plan check. Many interior remodels need simpler permits, and some need none.

Where do you work?

Los Angeles and surrounding communities. Ask us if you're unsure whether we cover your area.

How does pricing work?

It depends on scope. After a first conversation we send a clear proposal with a fixed fee or defined phases, so you know what each stage costs before we start.

Ready to talk through your project?

A 30-minute conversation about your home, your goals and your budget. No obligation.
